The Lech'n Stube is the à la carte gourmet Restaurant/Bar at Gruendlers in Radstadt. Visitors and locals alike will appreciate the cozy ambience and the high-quality à la carte menu, which offers traditional regional dishes, Mediterranean creative and the beloved “Lech'n Stube classics”.

The history of the “Lech'n Stüberl "

The history of the “Lech'n Stüberl "

In 1980, Matthias Weissenbacher built the very popular “Lech'n Stüberl" which is unchanged to this very day. His idea came from a visit to a small mountain restaurant during a holiday in South Tyrol.

 

While creating a true rural atmosphere, the hotelier also wanted to incorporate the family’s heritage. So original planks, pillars and boards from the grandparents’ farmhouse of "Weissenbachers", which was built in 1625, were used for the entire ceiling extension of the Stüberl. This is documented today in the original wood exposé over the regulars’ table in the “Lech'n-Stüberl".

 

Matthias Weissenbacher personally laid out the floor of the Stüberls with lovingly preserved zodiac signs in Sölkner marble.

 

How did the parlour get its name? In the past, smaller farms in Salzburg were referred to as "Lechn".

 

When the new host family Andrea and Michael Schnell took over at Gründlers Sporthotel in 2014, they were careful to carry on the original philosophy. No longer a well-kept secret, the "Lech'n Stüberl" with its culinary philosophy “Lech'n Stüberl and its seasonal stars of the season" is a valuable asset for the 4-star resort.
